Jessica Nelson is a person in long-term recovery and a graduate student in the Master Program for Education, specializing in Human Development and Counseling at Lindsey Wilson College, where she is set to graduate in May 2025. With a background in clinical mental health and substance abuse treatment since 2017, Jessica currently serves as an intern clinician at Changed Lives.

 

She has also demonstrated her leadership skills as the Young People in Recovery (YPR) Chapter Lead for Winchester, KY, from December 2022 to June 2024, and has recently established a new YPR Chapter in Richmond, KY.

 

Deeply passionate about providing community education and support for individuals in recovery and those seeking help, Jessica advocates for policy reform and utilizes her voice and personal experiences to guide others through their challenges.

 

Her dedication and hard work have earned her recognition, including the YPR Breakout Chapter of the Year award in 2023 and the All-Star Chapter accolade at the 2024 Youth Recovery Expo in Washington, D.C.
